Nokia N8: now thats what you call a smartphone

I was waiting to write about N8 much before but everyday a new feature of this device was revealed. N8 really looks something which will change the dimensions of mobile devices.

N8 holds so many features which are the first in any mobile phone. Lets see all features one by one.

Camera

The first thing you notice about it is that N8 is Nokia's first 12MP Camera phone with Xenon flash and HD video recording facility. It also hosts feature like Face detection due to its dedicated imaging Sensors.

Dolby Digital Sound

The Nokia N8 will incorporate Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 Surround Sound technology thus offering a true home theater experience with HD audio.

Display and Design

N8 has a simple yet stylish form factor. The phone looks quite sleek and light. It has a 3.5" 640x360 pixel, AMOLED display. It employs capacitive technology for touch screen. It will be nice to use multi-touch features on this screen(thanks to Symbian^3). Not to forget that N8 has a dedicated 3D graphics HW accelerator.

Connectivity

N8 supports 5 GSM frequencies first time in the world. This means the device will work anywhere in the world. With a 12MP Camera, N8 allows you to view your high quality videos and photos via HDMI-out connectivity to your HDTV. It also have Bluetooth 3.0 along with A-GPS and FM transmitter and Wi-Fi 802.11n support.

Symbian^3 OS

N8 is the first device in the world to run on Symbian^3 OS. You now have three customizable home-screens full of shortcuts and widgets. Native multitasking, support for multi-touch gestures, integration with Qt development framework, pinch-zoom in pictures and browser, Cover-flow integration in Music player  are some highlights of Symbian^3.

USB on the GO

Connect your External HDD or Memory Stick with adapter to N8 and browse all files you have there, directly through your device. Really helpful feature for me.

All these feature and still Nokia managed to keep it at at 370 Euros (Without Taxes)/Rs. 22000.
